       King and Cinnamon
Forever on patrol with open eyes and an open heart, this  man of mystery and adventure is making his mark where angels fear to tread.  Erstwhile correspondent for Boston's most recently defunct daily paper, Whalehead King is looking past new horizons from the Field's Corner T station.  If Boston is an oyster, Whalehead King is a pearl.  The sky over the Prudential Tower is the limit of his ambition.

Whalehead King, man-about-Bean Town, is the kind of gentleman you often see and wonder about in a good way.  He is well-dressed, well-groomed, well-mannered, well-weathered and a pleasure to be around.  He stalks Boston, Dorchester in particular and everywhere else in general, taking the tally of his surroundings, writing it down, and using his substantial powers for good while harming none.  To get a more general view of this gentleman's panache, click here or on the picture above to read his personal blog.

Whalehead King once served a posting as the Unofficial Goodwill Ambassador of New London, Conn., hence his nom de guerre.  New London is Connecticut's Whaling City.  He published annual chapbooks celebrating the New London State of Mind.  The final copies of the last installment are for sale for $10.50, including shipping and taxes.  We do not offer excerpts from this masterpiece.  W. K. has sold more chapbooks in New London than anyone in memory.  He still claims the honorary title "Bard of New London."  26,000 cranky Yankees can't be wrong.  If you don't trust their judgment, save your $10.50 and remain the poorer for it.  There are less than a hundred copies left and he isn't printing any more.  Our hero's focus has turned toward Dorchester nowadays and he is singing a different song.

Footnote, postscript and disclaimer:  Whalehead King  goes his own way.  As a professional dreamer and confabulator, your Man on the Dot doesn't always stick to the facts beyond the kernel of truth.  When asked, he is always happy to concede when his imagination has gotten the better of the historical transcript.  He will point out the who, when, where, why and how he arrived at his eccentric narrative.  When all is said and done, Mr. King makes as much sense as anyone else and his vision is more inspiring than most.

The staff at whaleheadking.com welcomes input and suggestions.  If your interest is piqued, we invite you to contact us with suggestions as to what would fascinate and entertain our fellow travelers on Life's highways and byways should they find themselves in Bostonia.  If you find yourself in Boston, Whalehead King is available to give tours of the various neighborhoods that have captured his attention.  As a peripatetic inhabitant of the Hub of the Solar System, tourists who visit Boston often find Mr. King's unique perspective to their enlightened liking, coming out of an hour seeing Bean Town with new eyes.  Remember, Boston is more than downtown and most of the outer reaches of the city are easily accessible by mass transit.  Our Man in the Dot enjoys the train and he knows the locales around most T stops better than the locals.  Hour-long tours are available for a minimum of $45.00 or $20.00 per head.  Mr. King's favorite walkabouts include Mission Hill, Maverick Square, and  JFK/UMASS  (we will not visit either the UMASS campus or the JFK Presidential Library).  If you want to walk the Freedom Trail the Whalehead King-way, it is much quicker than the tour offered by the colonial re-enactors who lead the cattle call from Boston Common.  If you are interested, please feel free to make arrangements.
